Warning: Fotolia registration, don't get trapped and tricked!

Just a quick note on what I just experienced.
As you all know, I am a contributor at Fotolia. One year after my registration, I finally reached the minimum payment threshold of 50 credits.

For your info, Fotolia payment is a bit different from the other microstock site. For each photo sold, you get credit. Once you reach 50 credits you are allowed to ask for payment and convert the credits into currency.

I was in South Africa when I opened my account and fotolia automatically registered me as a contributor from South Africa. Strange enough, I had to submit an I'd document which state clearly that I'm from Madagascar, not a south African citizen. Indeed, fotolia withhold 30% of my earning for the US tax.
So, today I tried to convert 63 credits and to my surprise, my only option is Skrill in South African Rand. No PayPal. Unfortunately, I do not have a Skrill account and do not like to open one. I only have PayPal account.
Fotolia do not tell you that upon registration! Their "How do I get paid" FAQ only tell you that they can pay you via Skrill or PayPal.
"Every time your content is sold, we add the earned credits to your account. Once you accumulate at least 50 earned credits, you can cash out via PayPal or Skrill. "

One solution would be to do a wire transfer but the minimum payment for wire transfer is 500 credits! So if it took me 1 year to get 50 credits then I should expect my first payment in 10 years. OOOO

So I dropped an email asking for help and this is the answer I got:

Hi there,

Please note that account zones cannot be changed after the account has been set up.

If you are a contributor and you wish to sell your images in a different Fotolia zone, you will need to have your old account closed first before you can open a new account in a different Fotolia zone. Please beware that you will need to upload all your work again and we do not guarantee that we will accept any of the same files again. This is up to the selection team which will handle your work at that time. Any accumulated credits in the account at the time will either need to be cashed out or transferred to the new account, but please note that credits become unconvertible after transferred between accounts. Please have this in mind before requesting to have your account closed and opening a new one in a different Fotolia zone.

In the South African zone you can only receive payments via Skrill."

What the hell. So basically, you are not allowed to move and live to different country if you are a fotolia contributor. Doing so would require a cancelation of your account, creation of new account, loss of previous sale and ranking, and a re-upload of all your files.
Anyway, my only choice was to open a Skrill account and hope for the best!
Fotolia is not my best selling microstock and this situation made it my least favorite microstock site. My favorite microstock site remains Shutterstock.

As usual, If you want to sell your pictures and videos online and to give microstock a try, then I recommend Shutterstock. The registration is very straight forward and you can fill it here. It is free, and quick, nothing to lose, except your time ;-)
Another option that I tried and I managed to sell few pictures is Fotolia. If you want to register at Fotolia then click here. But do not get trapped and tricked!
I tried Dreamstime as well but it was a disaster. However, who never know maybe Dreamstime is the one for you. If you want to give Dreamstime a try then you can register here
